Climbing and Descending: He's still mastering climbing, but he's figured out that feet first is the way to go on descents. The hilarious part is watching him try to climb tall objects. He sticks his right leg up as far as it will go and if that doesn't clear the object and give him some purchase to push himself up and over whatever the obstacle is, immediately crying ensues.
Walking: Definitely his favorite mode of getting around these days, though from time-to-time he will still crawl. He likes to chase and be chased, though he tends to forget to look where he's going...
Eating: He'll stuff as much food into his mouth as he can if he likes it. He'll do the same thing and then spit it all out over the floor without any indication that he likes or dislikes the stuff. Sugar fiend in the making and we'll have to watch that because diabetes definitely runs on my side of the family. He's a bread eating machine! Course textures are OK, but anything soft and slippery that's not ice cream is pushed away. And speaking of ice cream - he has an uncanny ability to figure out when we are eating ice cream. Take last night - Napi is trying to enjoy a few scoops and he's hollering hysterically when she refuses to give him some. She relents and he chills out. I serve myself a couple of scoops and as soon as he spots my bowl he starts begging and pleading. If I'm eating a bowl of cereal he could care less! It could be visual confirmation or just a remarkable sense of smell, but he's got it figured out.
Gaseous Clay: He'll pass gas with little notice and in random sometimes embarrassing ferocity. One minute you're holding him watching tv and out of nowhere....
Sex Appeal: He loves the ladies...fellas, not so much. I'm not complaining!
Laughter: His is contagious. It's one of those full-faced, entire body shaking kind of laughs. You can't help but laugh when he laughs.
Temper: He's got a mean one and he'll wig out if things aren't going his way...yet
Kind: He's got the spirit of MLK! If he sees someone in distress he'll reach out and hold them or put his head on their shoulder. He does this when his parents are sick, and he did it when my grandmother reacted to the murder of a grandchild.
Mariano Rivera: I told Napi that if I could get him to pitch left handed we'll be set for life. He's a righty for sure, but he tends to throw with the left hand sometimes and when he throws, if it's going in the right direction, it is moving with alarming speed and accuracy. We've been tagged quite a few times by his throws and...
Mike Tyson: His punches. The boy will smack the heck out of you if you aren't paying attention. He does understand the word No! and with any luck the slapping and throwing will stop soon.
So much more I could mention - but it's time to go home. Which brings me to a techincal note - we may be of the air for a few days here at NapiSoul while I set up our new (to us) desktop. Assuming Vista picks up our home network, you shouldn't miss us at all!
