Daycare Frustrations

This is eating Napi up and for good reason. Despite introducing him to the "beginning steps" (or 12-18 months) room several months ago, Amiri is still reporting to the "infant" (or 6 weeks-12 months) room at his daycare. The reason...staff shortages in the beginning steps room prevents them from adding more kids to that room until additional people are hired. This is problematic for several reasons. First and foremost, we're paying for this! While there may not be a difference in price between the two rooms, our $254+ per week should place our kid in the room in which he belongs. Second, we're starting to wonder if some of his behavioral issues (temper tantrums, throwing stuff, clinging behavior, incessant crying/whining etc) are the result of being around younger kids where he is more likely to observe that sort of behavior. Granted, the 12-18 month kids are probably carrying on with just as much bad behavior - but we don't know that for sure and we won't know until he gets in there and we can observe the changes in his social behavioral patterns. Third, this is nonsense. How long does it take for a place that's raking in what I estimate to be at least $20 to $30k a month to hire the one additional person they need to properly staff that room?

I've said it once and I'll say it again; the childcare and wedding industries are fleecing the hell out of people!
