So Much in a Week!

The boy goes away for a week and comes back a brand new person! When he left for St. Louis with his mom last week, Ami’ could take about three to four steps before falling to the ground. His primary method of covering ground was the crawl, whether in combat crawl mode, or down on all fours. Standing required the assistance of either Napi or myself, or at the very least some sort of structure to pull himself up on. Imagine my surprise when Napi tells me at the baggage claim that he can now walk, and has even figured out two words! Picture the look on my face when she puts him down and he takes about 10 steps towards me, stopping only because he ran into my legs!! Incredible. And to prove to his old man that it wasn’t a fluke, he’s pretty much walking all over the apartment and crawling only if he feels the need to get down low. He can even balance himself after a stumble, demonstrating that little trick last night when his legs hit my shoe and almost sent him face first into the carpet. I won’t even get into his new word when he starts crying/whining…mama mama mama!
