Not Red Eye
Napi arrives at Ami's daycare yesterday and is immediately asked whether his eyes have been red over the weekend. She tells them yes, but that we had chalked that up to allergies that we all seem to be experiencing here in the DC area these days. They inform here that on Friday they were all fairly certain a child in the daycare had pink eye (no warnings given to parents) and having received confirmation of that fact from the kid's parents, they were not admitting any children to the daycare displaying symptoms of pink eye. So having driven the 1-hour commute to get there, Napi had to turn around and come back home. I left work at 1300 to join her and at 1415 we were at his pediatrician's office getting him examined. He appears to have a mild case of pink eye (mild as in no obvious or heavy discharge from his eyes), and there only appears to be a bit of pink/red in one eye. No ear infections either, and the only prescription so far is for an antibiotic cream which I'm about to apply in a few minutes. He's a bit fussy (particularly during the night), but otherwise he's hanging in there. Based on this latest episode, however, I do believe our days at his present daycare may be numbered.
