Suction

Ami' just can't seem to shake this cold. Napi suctions the stuff out, but it's like bailing water out of the Titanic with a 20 ounce cup. Just can't get at most of the stuff and he's not coughing it up fast enough. Poor thing is going down a road his Mom travels quite frequently. Once Napi gets congested, good luck getting rid of it. He's starting to do stuff that's just downright hilarious, despite this blasted cold. A few observations:

I don't care how hard he's crying, once you get him to open his eyes (is that normal by the way? crying with the eyes closed) and he sees his bottle, he immediately settles down and puckers up his lips in anticipation of receiving the bottle. It's comedy to see.

Same thing goes for his pacifier. Get it close enough to him and he puckers up. But here's the really funny part; if he grabs a hold of it, he will try and move it into his mouth, often running into major coordination snafus. He manages to get just about every part of the pacifier plastic into his mouth while consistently missing the rubber nipple. Comedy.

And last night he showed us his new trick - blowing bubbles. He spent the better part of 20 minutes last night trying to pucker up his lips and blow. Napi mimicked him and that only led to him increasing his effort. It was absolutely hilarious. He started up again this morning once the initial morning cryfest ended.
