Cruising

We've moved to a biweekly schedule with our doctor and today was the first scheduled appointment under the new schedule. Today also marks the first time since switching to Dr. Porters group that we've seen a doctor other than Dr. Porter. What I learned from this visit is that we definitely made the right choice switching to these folks. The new doctor was just as nice and just as professional. Too bad she had a complicated last name - can't for the life of me remember it now. Anyway, Napi is spot on in terms of where she ought to be at this point. According to the doctor she measures perfectly (whatever that means - as far as I can tell she basically measured the brown line on Napi's stomach), and the baby's heart rate is steady in the 140 range. All-in-all a good visit.

Something else caught my attention while waiting for the doctor to arrive in the room. On the wall of the examination room is a chart tracking the development of a fetus from Months 1 - 9. Our due date of 25 July places Napi at around 7 months. According to the chart, at 8 months the baby becomes more active and his kicks and movements are clearly visible when looking at the mother's belly. Well that's what we're seeing now! Peanut is kicking the mess out of Napi and every movement and twitch can be seen. Considering the comments she's received about her size (though the doctors tell us she's right where she should be, weight wise), and the amount of activity we're seeing from this kid, could it be that we may be farther along than we've been told?
