You're Pulling My Leg!

Napi has a full blown chest cold. Probably caught a bug on the plane, but it's here and it looks like it will be here for a while. We made our first trip to our new chiropractor this morning, and all-in-all he was a pretty nice fellow. Goes by the name of Moose. So we head into his office and the atmosphere is small and friendly. Moose ushers us both into the room and proceeds to demonstrate just how out of whack Napi's pelvis is. Our visit today was fairly short, but we liked his approach (gentle) and Napi seemed to feel better. We left with an agreement to visit him again next Saturday and I think she's probably looking forward to it.

This cold (and our recent weather here in DC) is truly hurting her. She can hardly breathe, and we've resisted taking any meds for fear of hurting the Peanut. Realizing there was no way she could go on like this, we picked up the phone and contacted her doctor, who advised that Tylenol, Sudafed, and Robitussin were all ok. She also ok'd the use of Napi's inhaler. Armed with this info, we headed straight for a pharmacy where she purchased some tylenol stuff that as far as I can see ain't working!

In any event, she indicated she was feeling a little better, and we decided to go ahead with our planned trip to the Kennedy Center to see the Alvin Ailey Dance Theater. Magnificent performance, notwithstanding the ignorant ass people behind us who talked throughout the entire performance! If the Ailey folks pass through your town, you owe it to yourself and your kids to go see them perform. It is truly incredible.

From there we headed to a Jamaican restaurant for some good fish and then it was back home, where Napi promptly hit the bed, and remains there as I type. It's snowing outside, so in the scheme of things, it's probably best that she just get some rest this evening.

Peanut continues to move around, though I think Napi was a bit worried this afternoon when she hadn't felt him move by lunch time. She wants us to purchase one of those wands that allow you to hear the baby's heart beat, and that seems to be on the list for tomorrow's shopping. I can just see it now, me glued to her belly with this wand, trying to hear that rapid fire heartbeat...
